Does anyone have experience with OVE (Optimum Value Engineering) framing techniques?
If so, which techniques do feel work well?
And conversely, which techniques do you feel are not useful?
Thank you!

WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
i tried it in the late '70's...
24" oc framing .. stacking floor joists/wall studs/ trusses
2-corner studs
drwywall clips in corners, etc
didn't like 24 " oc
didn't save enough money on 1-off construction to make it worthwhile... and it would have hurt our reputation
you really want to save money .. look at ThermoPly Structural Sheathing for wall sheathing.. i built quite a few cardboard housesMike Hussein Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore

Hey - if you want some Simpson HH4 and HH6 hangers for this, you can pretty much have them for the shipping.

What works well or is at least worth doing:
stacking joists/rafters over studs
24" O C framing (sometimes)
minimizing headers by locating door/window openings on stud layout when possible and sizing headers for actual load instead of always using one size.
What doesn't work for me:
single top plates....walls seem too wiggly and all the drywall on the walls needs to be ripped down 1"
