PackHorse sawhorse; posted too late

McDesign | Posted in Tools for Home Building on January 24, 2008 03:06am

I’ve been meaning to praise these sturdy plastic sawhorses in a thread; I’ve had them for years and they’ve been great – they basically fold up into a smooth, 6x6x36″ chunk – not that gangly, leggy thing in the back of the truck.  Each leg is individually adjustable for height, yadda yadda. –

So here are mine today – youngest said, “What was that noise?” at lunch – boy frozen treated yellow pine is heavy!

Forrest – will definitely get another pair from the website

You are going to take those out to the back 40 and shoot them?

I notice that the really good brand of sawhorse in the back ground is still standing .

I bought a pair of steel adjustable sawhorses to stack a large load of 2x8's to stain knowing that they would be plenty strong. I came back the next day and they were flattened and the legs were bent in the wrong direction.

But I did take them back and got my money back.

If you want multi-functioning, get the drywall benches. More money of course, but you can use them for trimming windows and doors, hanging ceilings, etc.

Try the trojan horses from Amazon, just about my favorite tool. That will not happen with those and they can expand to any length.

Might want to look in the back left of McDesign's photo. I think that is a blue prophylactic back there. ;-)

Well, that isn't exactly a selling point!

Maybe if they'd sunk into the ground, but looks like it was a collapse.

It's pretty soft snow-melty earth - haven't uncovered it all the way yet - not sure what precipitated the collapse.  Will get to the bottom of it.

Yep, after careful exposure of the site and the post mortem, I'm convinced that the downhill back leg just failed catastrophically, and precipitated the rest of the collapse.  The soft ground doesn't appear to have been a factor.

This leg just broke - the foot is still in its depression in the ground -

    Parts for Packhorse Saw Horses

Any idea where I might get parts to this model.....I broke the knuckle where the legs attach and fold....don't see where they are available anymore. Might have to laser scan the part and print on 3-D printer I guess.....

    Thanks
