I tried my best to scrape, wash, caulk, primer my cedar lath. Its on the hot/wet side of the home and takes a beating. I have peeling again but I don’t think its an in house moisture push. I need to go back down to bare wood. Any experience with the Porter Cable 7403? Looks like a devil of a power remover. BTW, didn’t cheap out on the paint, but there are many old layers. Maybe even 7 layers.

I WAS going your route with my 8" cedar lap then switched to 7" beaded fiber cement. The trouble with the PC tool is that there is NO dust pick-up. Lots of info in past issues of FHB re paint removal. A company called Warner Electric makes a paint removal tool that worked pretty well on a previous home of mine. It looks like a palm sander but has a blade/heating pad that works its magic.
Good Luck,

Thanks, I will look at the Warner tool.
I have used the porter cable one and its good but a friend of mine just a bought a Fesco paint remover and it a work horse for sure, you might wanna look at that one too. I also have another suggestion too you if you strip the siding to down too bare wood use a clear penatrating sealer used for decks and then prime and paint to seal up the wood.
