This is a house I did lots of porch work for. The client wanted Duration, and a particular painter they had to wait for. He did it nights and weekends, not his crew – he wants to become the “fine old house go-to guy”. Seems to have done a thorough job; passed all the interim SW inspections.
The front “flat” roof got massive rot repair and re-roof (Seal-o-Flex, of course), new lookouts, and an entire new cornice, as well as some ceiling and beam repair in late 2005.
I designed and built the back porch entirely, in early 2005 – well, except for just at the end when I fell and broke my arm there. There is a hidden deck behind that shingled faux roofline – there is a Seal-o-Flex (of course) flat roof behind it and a big floating “Z”-shaped deck off the master suite.
Forrest – finally took my sign down

Very nice!
Very nice indeed, you're officially bad-azz, and your town definitely has some fine architecture. Those photos of you in JLC were somewhat heinous... not as bad as Mark's leg but bad enough.
Yeah, the saw guy got the gore prize! I made up a nice letter of appreciation on letterhead to go with one of my free copies of JLC, and presented it to my surgeon Friday.

Did they let you keep that wicked looking Robo-Terminator metal hardware, or does it get used on the next guy?
I did indeed get to keep the titanium "fixator", and it is becoming the dual carburetor linkage on my hot rod.
Hooray for adaptive re-use!
