I have purchased a used red cedar garage door. It is in perfect
condition except the previous owner finished it with raw linseed oil.
This has left a sticky finish on it. I want to paint it with a exterior latex.
Any suggestions on how to prep the door panels?

Wipe it with mineral spirits containing an ounce per gallon of Japan Drier. Let it sit for a week. Prime with oil base. Or, use a pigmented stain rather than paint. There should be enough drier in the stain to eventually make the linseed non-sticky.
