Clean thoroughly, prime properly, paint. You already knew that, though, and I'm not trying to be a smart@$$.
Maybe this posting will draw attention to your question and somone who can give a more detailed answer will chime in.
I'd probably go to the local Sherwin-Williams dealer and ask them.
I would go to a place that sells auto paint to body shops. You want an etching primer to prep the surface and then I think I would use a poly urethane enamel.
