3 years back I painted the exterior of a half round white vinyl covered wood window on the second floor west facing side of my house. Today I was up there cleaning the window and the two coats of olivegreen primer included oil stain is still in good shape even with the insect deposits on it. Paint on the north facing double hung is the same. I wasn’t sure how this stuff would hold up. Just thought I’d report in on the experiment. Over and out.

Ya know, I painted the interior of a vinyl window frame in my spare bathroom about 8 years ago (actually, I got sloppy trying to cut in the trim and said "ah, what the Hell!").
Used Pittsburg oil primer and oil topcoat and it is still in good shape (sky blue tint).
I've just been reluctant to admit what I did but now that the cat's out of the bag (and thanks to you for drawing me out) I Painted Vinyl a long time ago and it worked out OK!!!
Maybe we're painting pioneers, Rez.
Maybe time to write a book. I wonder if Andy is lurking?Half of good living is staying out of bad situations.
