Hi All,
First off thanks for the input on this drill I got a 12v 3.5 amh today for $189 not the best price but they are actually hard to find around here it seems, that particular model anyway.
So I get it and it has some juice in it. The store says let it charge for 24 hours before I use it but I can use anyway. So I use one battery and don’t diminish it completly. I read how to charge it and there is no mention of a memory and I’ve heard as much. There is also mention in the manual of the 24 hour period for NiCads but this is a NiMh. So it also says the charger is a “smart” charger and will turn itself off when the battery is charged.
So should I charge it for 24 hours even if it says fully charged? Is there in fact a merory or can I charge it anytime I see fit? Can I do any harm to the batteries by not charging them at the right time?
Thanks,
N

The short answer is yes, charge for 24 hours. If memory serves me it has something to do with " conditioning" the battery, only for the first charge.
memory is a mythological holdover from the dark ages of batteries. Heat is the destroyer. oercharging can cause over heating but most smart chargers avoid this so use it any way you wnat and don't worry.
