I saw an add in the magazine for a PC framer, it looked like it had paper collated nails in the clip. All I’ve seen or bought come with plastic, I’d love to NOT have plastic shooting at me eveytime I shoot a nail.
Anyone know where to get full round head gun nails in paper, not plastic??
Edit, Those available locally are: Grip-Rite, Paslode, and Makita.

Hi Cag,
I checked at our local yard,(Meeks), and they are pretty sure they don't exist.
Of course it could be that they don't know and hate to admit it.
But, I think that my Dad's old Duo fast, he bought it used from Noah after his project, used paper tape. But I'm almost positive they were clipped head nails.
I think they have to use plastic to get the spacing for the round head to clear each other. But I'm just using the S.W.A.G. method to come to that conclusion.
I hate that plastic shrapnel, too. If I find something, I'll let you know. You do the same, K?

I think you're right, bee. I get paper-collated nails for my Paslodes, but like you said, they use clipped heads.

Bee, and Bob,
I think you are both correct, I took a closer look at the ad I saw, page 111 of the current issue. I just glanced over it the first time, and it looked like round heads in the clip, but after a closer look, they ain't...
Oh well...
Probably wouldn't work anyway with the space between the nails.

I believe at one time there was a company making paper collated nails for 22 degree round head nailers. But think they had problems with the strips jamming. All of this is foggy thoughts in the back of my head though.
Mike Guertin might know the answer though.

Senco has a full round head nail that is paper collated. The head is offset on the shank and they work in all Senco clipped head nailers. It will be interesting to see if these measure up to the building codes.
Code here says fine.

For many years I used Paslode nails for my Hitachi NR83 nailers which have the 22 degree magazines. They are full round head without the offset and are model number 405103, size is .131 X 3-1/4. Check with the boys at Paslode and see if they are still available. The paper collation is really good on these, and no more high speed plastic bits in the face is icing on the cake.
