I have a paslode PowerMaster Plus framing nailer. It has worked perfectly for almost a year. Now in the middle of a job, it refuses to drive the 3.5″ nails. I have checked my pressure and it is almost 120. Same as before. I use 1/2 id hose, just 50 foot length. It will still drive the 2″ nails. Pull the trigger with the nose firmely engaged and it just hisses thru the trigger.
I can’t see anything other than the depth of driver to adjust on here. Anyone ever seen this before?
Thanks in advance!

It is likely a seal of some sort that has gotten deformed. Pneumatic nailers have all sorts of o-rings and such that can put you out commission. I will bet that is it and it will be inexpensive to repair.
No lie........
Just came from a place that sells nailers and nailer stuff (two days ago). Got myself the Max gun. Jerry, the guy who sells, fixes the guns, and runs the joint starts telling all about what he does (chatted with Jerry for 2 hours or so... I had the time, it was snowing really hard). They are the local Max dealer plus they sell Paslode. We get to talking about Paslode and Jerry tells me he likes the guns a lot (remember he's the guy who fixes them). Anyway, 2 weeks earlier, Jerry dropped of Paslode stapler for me to try out on my house that I am building (it was a loaner) and because we really needed a second gun. The stapler failed miserably. Shot only one of 4 or 5 staples. Jerry comes by the next week, we tell him this, he takes the gun away and repairs it. Brings it back and it does the same darn thing.....
Back to 2 days ago....
So good old Jerry and I are talking about Paslode and he admits that the Max framer has more guts. Of course we are talking about Max because I did my home work up front (before talking to Jerry) and the stapler was also not a really great show of Paslode ability on my job. Then Jerry says, "Yea, and I probably shouldn't say this but Paslode has a small problem with the stick framer that they are taking care of right now but it hasn't gotten out yet (the fix, that is)." He continues, "See, the pistons have this funny way of wearing themselves a divot right where the o-ring goes. There's a fix and it includes a real simple change to the piston but it just hasn't hit the market yet. So, after a real short time, the guns will start leaking, well blowing by and loose power, and no amount of o-ring change puts them right."
And then he pulls out a Paslode gun which already has it's guts out all over the work table and shows me the piston.... "See, right here how it looks worn away."
And then he points over to a big box on the floor next to another work bench , the size that a 36" tv comes in, and says, "Look how many I have."
The box was full
I got the max gun and let me tell you, it works every bit as well as billed. Heck even better.
I really do hope Jerry was just some knucklehead who has been rebuilding Paslode guns wrong all his life and creating his own problems for himself and his customers. But, it may be something to check into (Paslode coming out with an updated piston design).
Good luck
