Hi Guys.
I know the hanger fastener nailer topic has been beat to (near) death however –
While I like the Hitachi nailer, the paslode stuff is much more prevalent here, so nails, support and parts are easier to come by.
So…. for those of you who already have the Paslode Positive Placement nailer…
How do you like it? How does it perform? Regrets? Weight issues? Size issues?
Thanks

I edited the metal connector review for FHB and the Paslode scored very well.
Hi Jim...
I read the review and, as with many of your articles* - enjoyed it and took something from it.
I then jumped from your article to a full blown research on the web - and the one thing I heard over and over was that the paslode was pretty darn big and heavy. The hitachi (your best rated nailer) truly is considered the best hardware nailer by most people out there.
*no, really - I can't think of any article I've read in FHB or FWW that I put the mag down afterwards and said "Boy, that article was really terrible. I think I need to send a letter to those guys telling them what a terrible job they're doing."
At times, I almost wish that you guys would stop printing the letters and emails from people who just seem to complain for no other reason than to hear themselves type. (yes - hear & type)
I especially like it when you add rebuttals from the people who wrote the articles.
Keep up the good work guys.
For the money, the Bostitch did really well and it's a light gun to boot. This gun can be converted to a reliable framing gun in a few seconds.
I'm glad you like what we're doing. If you have a suggestion about how we can continue to improve, just let us know.
Jim"I want a good clean fight. No head butts, no rabbit punches, and no hitting below the belt. Break when I say break, and protect yourself at all times."
Regarding the Paslode, I bought it and had nothing but regrets. It seems to want to jam more if you don't use it very frequently. Also weighs about as much as a twin-stack. I'm a pretty strong guy (frame with a 30oz Vaughn when the elbows feeling good) and that thing gets heavy quick! Gotta figure that 90% of the time the work is over your head....weight is a big concern when buying a positive placement nailer. Some tools use weight to their advantage (worm drives, demo hammers etc) but a PPN is not one of 'em!
Go with the Hitachi....you'll find parts when it needs 'em. If you are really concerned with down time, order a set of rings/seals when you buy it, that way you'll have 'em when you need 'em. Other than that you probably won't need much more maintenance with the Hitachi.
Also have heard that the Bostich is a decent performer.
