I have two pasload impulse nailers. For some reason they both stopped working. They are also virtually new – maybe 50 nail have been shot. The fan goes, and once and a while it will shoot, but mostly not. I checked the spark, it is sparking. I switched fuel cells, battery. Anyone have a suggestion?
Is this is common paslode problem?
Thanks,

Here's a stupid question, but did you snap the valve on the new fuel cells all the way? The old ones came in 2 pieces with a throw-away safety cap, the new ones come with the valve snapped halfway on without the throw-away.

The problem was the fuel was out of date. The company told me their fuel really does expire. I find that strange but true. Thanks for your reply.

if you have later production models like mine, the led on the handle flashes differently for low batt, low fuel. don't forget about the fastener failsafe, non paslode nails don't always work too well.

Impulse guns are great when they work but my experience is that they are very high maintainence tools. As a finish carpentry contractor we have about six impulse finish nailers and one brad gun. Some of them seem to work just fine and some of them have mysterious problems. I guess I don't have a good answer for you except to say that I rely completely on my supplier for service, maintainence and cleaning. The frustration factor for me is very high when these guns break down. Paslode is replacing some spark plug wires because they wear through and short out, the fuel cells have had various problems and there is a recall based on dates printed on the cells and there is a retro fit part to help a nail feed problem. The newer issues seem better, my worst gun is an early angled nailer. With guns as new as yours all that I can say is to try to find qualified service. My local guy has a lot of experience partly due to my guns.

Check your elevation. Paslode has a disclaimer that states these guns shouldn't be used above 5000'. I purchased mine when I lived in Montana at 3200'. It worked great. I now live at 8500' in northern new mexico and the gun only shoots a dozen or so shots on a new fuel cell. After that it is hit or miss with a whole bunch of charges going to waste.

The problem turned out to be my fuel cell was out of date. I purchased new fuel and it worked. I never heard of fuel going bad but the company told me their did, and the new fuel completely solved the problem.
Thanks for you reply.
