I’m new and this is my first question. New construction, 2 story house, single story attached 3-car garage with open trusses perpendicular to the bays bearing on a glue lam on one side and a bearing 2×6 wall common with the house on the other side. A covered 2nd story deck adjoins the garage roof and connects to a 12×12 deck on the garage roof. The garage trusses have a 1/4 in 12 drop. The roof will be sprayed with polyurethan foam. The garage deck along with the adjoining covered deck will have an elastomeric polyurethan coating. The garage trusses have been engineered for estimated loads. Parapet walls with scuppers are on the garage. Now for the question. The garage deck sheathing should be 2 inches minimum above the garage roof sheathing. What is the best way to frame on top of the trusses to support the deck sheathing?
