HI Y’all !!
Here’s where i’m at building my 14′ x 30′ shop:
Framing, wall sheathing, roof sheathing and 30 lb felt complete.
Windows installed , flashed.
Patio door (french) installed. No flashing or casing yet.
Should I do the exterior casing for this door first or install a metal head flashing first?
or should i wrap the ext wall first with felt?

To get this started, is there a nailing flange on the door?
What are you doing for casing?
Did you set the bottom in a premade "pan"? or just a #### load of caulk?

It;s in a #?** of caulk. No nailing flanges. I got plenty shims and screws in there
and the doors open and close well.
Well, (and you can type #### in the body of your message-prospero will #### it out).
When I have had to deal with a flangeless door I've made my own "flange" out of vicor-peel and stick membrane. Take a 6'' wide pc and slit the paper on the back maybe an inch from the edge, bend it there and peel it off. Don't cut through the membrane. Bend the vicor and starting with the sides, adhere that one inch pc to the side of the jamb. Take the remaining 5'' and pull the paper off that and adhere it to your sheeting. Do the head after the sides. You can lay a pc of drip cap (fabbed) over the top of the head jamb of the door. Then felt, bottom up. Casing? What kind? You can cap that too. And what kind of siding (in case you haven't mentioned it yet)?
sorry if the message is incomplete or disjointed..........but there's wedding questions being bounced around here tonight.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

I'll probably use brick molding for casing.
The vicor sounds like the best solution i've heard. Thanks a lot!!
I'm thinkin vinyl ssiding but not for sure yet.
as you can probably tell , I don't have a plan or drawing for this project.
I;m jest making it up as i go . I;; might post some picture, but my computer skills
are worse than my carpentry skills.
Thanks again for your help.
