I want to put a dry laid brick floor inside. I have seen it done and 30 years later it still looks great.
My question is how do I do it….just stick the pavers on the plywood base and shim the edges or do I lay it on sand as you do outside?

Why dry laid? We did one about 10 years ago using thin pavers, thinset to floor, and grouted with a grout bag. Installed much like ceramic tile. I don't think I'd recommend a dry install.

Ditto Lazaro. Install thin pavers just like ceramic tile. A good brick yard will be able to get you a wide range of colors. The hard part is grouting the joints because of the rough texture.
