How big of a hole do you need to drill in a studs if you are running 1/2” PEX through the interior wall? This is in Phoenix, AZ

There is a grommet made for pex depending on the pipe size. you drill a hole for the grommet (the size is on the bag), fit it around the pex and slip into the hole. The grommet allows for some expansion which happens with hot water lines.
