Hi All,
I have only posted a few times here but always get GREAT advice! I am a gc in the Portland Oregon area, have one employee and try to stick with higher end remodes for the most part. I have been using Wursbo Pex for the last several years with great results, but recently saw a system by Rehau which looks even faster and maybe stronger. I am wondering if anyone has made the switch and would have any comments? I still use copper where I need to but Pex is (IMHO) a lot faster and easier. I would have to by a new tool If I switch but it might be worth it. I ahve had Wursbo fittings leak until the collars complely compress and I don’t think that would happen with the Rehau system. Any comments, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help!

I'm using Watts WaterPEX and their new stainless CinchClamps for all my potable in my house, and have been using a generic O2 barrier PEX from an online dealer for infloor radiant.
The Watts system seems pretty nice, and Wirsbo has something called an SSC system which appears to be identical. All the plumbers in my area that are willing to use PEX are using the Watts system, either the full copper crimp rings or the new cinch clamps.
Wirsbo¯ is now Uponor¯
I like it the best, mainly cause they been around longer than anyone.
Just finishing up a 42 story hotel/condo in Bellvue Wa, we used about 65,000 feet of 1/2" wirsbo pex & have had good luck with the install.
My next project about 2 blocks away is twin 25 story condos for phase 1. About 300 condos, if I get my way , the only copper will be the stub-outs to hold the angle stops.
2" & larger will be sch 10 SS ---- 1" & smaller will be Uponor¯
Haven't made up my mind for 1,1/4" & 1,1/2" pipe yet.
Anyways the reason I like the expansion vs the crimp tool is that you can't always get the tool where the fitting is, but if you expand the pipe out in the open then you can shove it where it needs to be without getting the tool in there.
