I needed to re-size some pictures for another post and found a fast and free Windows XP add-in for doing it.

Look for “Image Resizer” in the lower right column.
Once installed you just right click on the file and choose “resize pictures”. It gives a few options as far as reduction size and such. I’m not sure if its available for other versions of Windows.

semi... have you compared it to the freeware "Irfanview" ?
No, have you? I just had a look at their website. I have numerous graphic editing programs installed that allow you to re-size a photo (Illustrator, Picasso, etc.). I just thought this one was nice because its very simple and fast since you just right click on the file to re-size it. Its also a very small download and application.

I downloaded it by itself using this link:

I just discovered another nice feature with this program while updating an old post with some follow-up photos. While in the "attachment" window for a post, when you go to "browse", you can actually right click on the file right there and resize it. This means you can resize photos on the fly, so to speak, while attaching to posts.
