We’ve been in our new house for several months now. During the ~10 month construction process I asked quite a few questions of the group here. To thank all of you I wanted to post a few pics of the finished product. Thanks again for your help!

Rob, looks like it turned out really nice. Did you have any surprises along the way?How tall is the ceiling in the LR? Nice looking lot too.
Good looking family.
I resized your pics so that the dial-up folks could enjoy them.

I tried to resize them but when I copied them to my pictures they came out in Bit form instead of jpeg, whats up with that and how do I correct it?
Thanks
Doug
What program are you using to resize?

I resize using Irfanview, but when I right click on the picture to save it to "My Pictures" there is a tab at the bottom of the box that has "bitmap" in it, I don't have an option to change it.
For kicks I just went to some random picture on my opening page(MSN) and right clicked on it, it was going to save under "jpeg", even gave me the option to do it under "jpeg" or "bitmap", but I never get this option when I'm on BT?
I know that I have saved pictures on BT and resized them and then attached them just as you did here in this thread, but for the longest time I seam to only be able to save them under bitmap?
Doug
If I click on a pic to view it and then right-click as save it, it often will just offer BMP.
But if you right click and save the file prior to viewing it ('save target as'), you should be able to save it in jpg form (or whatever the original file is in).
On the Irfanview, I'll have to defer to someone else's knowledge, because I use Photoshop. But if IRC, there is an Irfanview thread in the photo gallery section.

Thanks John
when I saved them using the "save target as" it worked for me.

Thanks much John. I didn't know how to resize the pics so I appreciate you doing that for me. There were a few surprises along the way, but nothing major. The only big challenge we had is that we put our original house up for sale in February (started construction in Oct. '04 and our builder told us it could take up to 10-12 months to build given the size/details) and it sold in about three weeks. I was thinking it would take more like 3 months given the local market. So by the time we finally moved out we lived in two different hotels and a friend's house while they were traveling. My wife was pretty stressed but our builder (and friend; and still a friend) did a fantastic job. It wasn't cheap but I feel we got great bang for our buck. The movers told us that several people pulled up while their truck was in the driveway and they asked the movers if the house was for sale. But I see us being in this house for at least the next 10-12 years until the kids head off to college.
The Family Room is about 20 feet high. That's the one thing I'd change in the house if I could. I might make it ~12 feet or so to give it some dimension, but 20' (combined with the wood floor; though we put a carpet piece down over some of it) creates too much echo effect. And of course the heat bills aren't cheap.
Although we have the house we wanted, I'd never build again. Too much life hassle (I work a fair amount) for me. My wife on the other hand would build every two years if she could. She loved the experience.
