Hi, need help with advice about a foundation and a small lake place I’m looking to purchase. (I don’t know anything about foundations but came along this forum)

The house is a one level built on Pillar/Post/Pier, though its not very high off the ground at all. It’s in Upstate New York and it gets really cold in the winter, with lots of snow. 

Anyone have any insight on pillar /pier foundations? I’m concerned the floors will be sagging and critters will go under the house or if these are difficult to fix over time.
