I am installing 1×8 T&G white pine flooring in my house and would like to finish it with a tung oil. Since I have a 4′-6″ crawl space below, with high moisture (50 – 65%) I wonder if the back side of the flooring should be sealed also. Any insight would be appreciated.

I would use 2 layers of 30 lb. felt paper, with over lapping seems. With that wide of a board, the added layer and heavier paper will smooth out and cushion the flooring alittle
