Dear Breaktime;
This past summer I redid a bathroom. I installed a fiberglass tub/shower (tub with backwall & two sidewalls). I caulked the seams with a good grade white acrylic latex with silicone caulk. Since then, some areas of the caulk have become pink in color. Anybody have such an experience? Thanks, J.K.

It happens to me, too. I think it's a particular species of fungus or algae. Try a bleach solution. Scrub the area with a cleaner, then sponge on the bleach. Protect your hands and eyes. Let it sit a few hours before rinsing...give it time to work.

I'm not a chemist but it's almost certainly a member of the mold/mildew/fungus family. Did you try removing it with some chlorine bleach?
If this is your tub, what are you using for the daily/weekly/monthly/ (pick one) cleaning? I've found some of those "spray and you'll never work too hard" cleaners actually seen to encourage mold growth.
