Standard water heaters have 3/4″ fittings. Does it make sense for me to use 1″ pipe to the water heater and reduce to 3/4″ at the inlet and reverse back to 1″ at the outlet? This is new construction, copper pipe, with a well. The shower head on the second floor will be 25+ ft straight up from the expansion tank in the basement.
