I have a bostitch sb-1850xx 2″ brad nailer. It is 2-3 years old. still in good shape appearance wise, hasn’t been abused, has been oiled and cleaned semi-regularly.
When I first set it up in the am, when I go to fire it it just hisses and blows air at me. Some times it will fire after a dozenor so tries, and most times I end up taking it apart(the nose cover to push the driver back up) and putting it back together and never really know what it is that eventually gets it working again.
I have had it “repaired” several times and when it comes back it still does it . The repair guy says it works fine when he has it!!
Any one out there have a similar problem or a possible fix?
Maybe its time for a new brad gun. I’ll take suggestions on those too.
Thanx in advance.

Sounds like the valve or piston is sticking. I would suggest you need a new repair guy or when you pick it up take a 2x4 with you and some nails and shot a couple of hundred in front of him.
Sounds like blocked pressure, something get into your gun? I had one that acted the same, something small wedged itself into the intake, sometimes it would work and then it would quit. I'd take it apart and it would work. I'd take it apart and it wouldn't work, it was driving me crazy

I have a different brand, but one of my subs could never get my gun to work. I never had a problem.
It was the depth atjustment. He always set it to countersink the nail to the max. The trigger would not fully open. It fires every time with just a turn off max and still sets the nail further then necessary.
