Hi All,
Just purchased a circa 1920’s 2 story wood framed house sited in Northern lower Mich. Main area sets on crawl space, 16×24 kitchen&dr 1 story addition is on basement, addition has rock wool in attic w/ no ventilation, main attic has no insulation in attic, all walls and ceilings are lath& plaster, roofs sheathed w 1x w/ asphalt shingles.
I plan on installing cellulose in attic, prob foamboards to inside walls of crawlspace walls (cement block) Should I add soffit and roof ventilation to attic as I insulate? I also may add foamboard to inside walls, then 2″ sleepers, then drywall, prob will reside in a couple yrs, then add cellulose to walls, has clapboard siding in fairly good shape. Heated w/ ng fa furnace approx 10-15 yrs old. Am I on the right track?
Thanks, Alan
