I’m getting ready to produce several entry doors along with a few thousand feet of base and casing, have the shaper, router tables, etc.. geared up for it but was thinking of trying one new thing. I have access to an old Craftsman open-ended thickness planer, manual/pics at http://www.owwm.com/pubs/222/606.pdf , with a beefy enough motor hooked to the belt drive on it and maybe a blank knife as a counterbalance do you think I could run a molding knife in it? As for comments other than those regarding the technical feasibility..yes I know I can outsource it, a buy it at the lumberyard, live safer in a glass enclosed cube, etc..just figured I’d try new technique for the fun of it.
