Howdy…
As I’ve posted in some of the other threads, I’m coming down the home stretch in planning my first “for hire job”, a 16×16 foot elevated addition for some friends. Since this is my first job of this type I’d really like to be extra thorough and was wondering if there was anyone in my area (CT) that might be willing to cast an eye on my plans for anything I’m overlooking or suggestions that would allow me to do a better, more efficient job. I’d be happy to pay a ummm… appropriate fee (have no clue really what that might be) for a more experienced perspective. I expect the plans to be finished in the next few days. Thanks in advance for any help!

Paul are you talking about looking over the design and engineering you may have done or looking over your estimate and job planning? You hire a consulting engineer for the design and engineering for liability reasons but I could help you with the later. I'm not literally in CT but I'm almost right on it's western border and we'll often work in Fairfield county. Where in CT are you? Your project sounds very small so unless there is something you haven't mentioned I'm sure it would be no problem to help you out looking over your estimate and project management plans "pro bono".

That's very very kind of you Jerrald, thank you! I'm in New Haven. It's a small enough project that I'm confident there aren't any real engineering issues I've overlooked, I'd just like someone with more real world experience than myself to have a look. If your offer is open, I'd like to contact you when the plans are done and forward a copy to you. I own a large film lab, so perhaps I can return the favor. Can you use some prints for your home or office? Thanks again, I'm grateful for your offer.

Sure Paul you can contact me either via e-mail or phone off the information on any one of my websites. New Haven is not really that far away at all.
