   Plastic cement is the industry name. It is commonly referred to as "Waterproof Cement" and contains a resinous plasticizer.

   Why do you ask? What is the application? Will you be applying a finish over it? If so, be aware that it is capable of bleeding though another cementicious surface if you aren't careful.

   Have to look it up to tell you what "Type Portland" it is.

   *Does plastic roof cement come in sacks?Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. If per chance it does, I would be interested. Never heard of it.

   *Isn't plastic cement what used to be called airplane glue and was used by juvenile delinquents to get high??Seriously, from "Construction Materials" by Caleb Hornbostel:"Plastic cements are manufactured by adding plasticizing agents, up to 12% of total volume, to Type I Normal or Type II Moderate portland cement during manufacture. Their major uses are ffor mortar, plaster, and stucco."Plastic cement mortar is no longer allowed in San Diego. I don't know about elsewhere.

   What the heck is plastic cement? No one in any of the bldg. supply houses around here can tell me. They just shrug and say, "Plastic cement." There is no information on any of the sacks from the manufacturers around here. I'm guessing it is portland cement with lime added. Does anyone know? What is it used for as opposed to plain old portland cement?

   I'm talking about gray powder cement, just like portland cement except it's called plastic cement. It comes in 64# and 90# brown paper sacks just like portland cement.
