Here’s a picture of a playhouse I just finished building for my son. I started with some plans I found on the ‘net and went from there. My wife calls it the “palace of overkill”…

SB under is great way to go!
Looks good, that a sand box in the bottom?
Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, Professionals built the Titanic.
Dang that's some fine real estate. Your son must love it.
...that's not a mistake, it's rustic

You might wanna go take a look. He may have moved in already.
On a rainyday JB will be there . He is always talking about swings and trapiezes and such in the shower.
I posted this one a while ago but in a different context. This castle is the result of buying (and ignoring) no less than 4 different books on backyard play structures. I wanted to build a set of monkey bars and tunnels out of scaffolding and 30" plastic culvert pipe; DW said forget it and countered with a 'doll house' gizmo. I said forget it we can do better than that.
There's a spiral ladder inside the tower, which is 12' tall overall; on the back side where you can't see is a set of ratlines giving climbing access to the upper deck and there's a 10' wavy slide going down from there, too.
Wanted to install a swing, but there's too much slope to the yard....

I know your talking outside play houses, but I spotted this cool idea at the homearama I went to yesterday. It's good for a bonus room in an attic.
Who Dares Wins.
That's beautiful. Where did you see it at?
I spotted that at our local Homearama. If you don't know what that is many communities across the nation put them on each year. They take a new neighborhood and showcase select homes. It's a way for the local home builders association to show off it's builders and advertise their skills. The one we went to was all million dollar plus McMansions.
Every now and then you come across a cool idea like that.
Who Dares Wins.
Just got back from a long weekend of building my friend's playhouse. Gives me much respect for the quality of your final product. We got it all done in 2 days and a mosquito filled Friday evening.
My buddy is a master salvager. He kept the cost below $300. And had oak barn siding, tongue in groove flooring, 15/16th cedar for the rope bridge. I had no idea how expensive some of these play houses can get! A co-worker was telling me about the one they did and was pleased that it was only $1500 (plus it sounded boring).
Cheers
Very cool! I like the rope bridge. --Steve
What a great job! What site did you visited to find the plans? Hope your kids are having great fun.
Hi Steve: Just saw the playhouse - looks pretty cool for the lucky young man. I hope you had you roof rated for the snow load in Sarnia!! lol
Keep up the good work.
