Please be careful

Flathead | Posted in General Discussion on October 31, 2003 01:51am

Last Saturday a friend of mine fell off a roof (one story). With massive head trauma he survived until Wedensday. At 35 years old with a wife and two very young children my friend Matt passed away.

Please be careful.

My sincere condolences. That was exactly the reason for my posting my story yesterday. We have to remember to not let our comfort zone get too large.

I lost my very best friend about a year ago to a drowning incident.  It still chokes me up when I realize he's gone.

Losing a good friend is tough, regardless the circumstances.

    You have my heartfelt condolences.

    My sincere condolences.

And thank you for your admonition to all of us to be careful.  Says a lot about the quality of person, and friend, that you are to be thinking of others well being when you've suffered such a blow.  You and your friend were lucky to have known each other.  Take care.

'Sorry' doesn't ever seem to say as much as we want it to, but it's all we can think of when something like this happens. I lost a friend of twenty-three years this past winter. I feel for you, and for his family. I will drink a toast to him, and to you all.

I certainly appreciate all of your kind words. Our combined heightened awareness of our own safety is Matt's last gift to us and our families.

      Thank you,

Very sorry to hear about this.

I came back to work (an oh too brief vacation) and found that my colleague's husband was cleaning out the gutters.  Ladder slipped and he fell off.  She was working until 9pm that night, if the neighbor's stepchild hadn't found him, he would have died.  Dislocated shoulder, shattered arm (bones sticking out), internal bleeding(25% blood loss), and damaged spleen(they don't know if it must be removed yet).  He missed the concrete edging by a few inches.  This was on Sunday, before Halloween.  He didn't come home until Mon, Nov 03, 2003.

Please be very careful.  There is no relationship that CANNOT be improved with a suitable application of money or high explosives.
