I worked on a jobsite where the floor guys had the PLS.
Easy to set up, and a very bright line.
What type of work do you often do? Kitchens, baths, ceilings, etc. buic
I have the PLS 180 kit with the detector.
Placing the laser in the corner of a room, it projects almost all the way around a room.
It can also show plumb lines, whereas a rotary laser will only show a level line.
To the above poster rotary lasers can do vertical and plumb, the one I bought below does both. It shoots a plumb beam while in rotary horizontal mode and you can lay it on its side and shoot a vertical beam 360*
I just bought a CST-Berger LM800 (57-LM800GRPKG) from engineersupply.com
Our Spectra Precision L600 had a crack in one of the internal cables, so I needed something to get me by while it was being repaired.
I searched all over the web and local laser/surveying stores, and this was the best deal for the type of laser I needed with a few extra features that will be handy for other things. and it was as precise as our old laser with a long distance.
This lasers accuracy is 1/16" at 100 ft. and the range is 2800 ft. It also has a visible beam inside. Also can shoot dual slope grades.
I bought the package kit which comes with tripod, grade rod, detector, red glasses, V-mount for hanging on wall in house, targets, rechargable battery kit, remote control, and carry case.
Other lasers with these features are usually in the $1600 range.
Here is link to where I bought it, and the package kit is on sale for $829.99
