HI all,
Imagine my disapointment. You all advised me to give my brother the PLS2. Pricey, but a nice gift given that he’s building a house single-handed. (More or less.) I ordered it from Amazon. When he opens it it works for 15 seconds. Arrange with Amazon to exchange for a second one. It arrives and only has one of the beams working. Amazon has been great about it, but my brother still doesn’t have his laser level. So this is a warning about shipping.

I think the fact that the pendulum is free to swing around is a really dumb idea and I could see where that could lead to problems if the thing was handled roughly!
I would bet you will see a modification to that in the future.
I've had my free swinging pendulum for several years. No problems with calibration while carrying it in the van since purchase.
However, my first one I bought at the local Drywall Supply was on the fritz out of the box. Controls wouldn't work, turned on-but no off.
Called PLS and they quickshipped a new one. Worked fine.
Good company.A great place for Information, Comraderie, and a sucker punch.

I had the same problem with the first one that I bought as well.
Wasnt a PLS2, another brand, but it shot a line at a very obvious angle. I think its possible for that pendulum to get knocked out of wack!
The replacement works great, have had it riding in the back of my truck for two years now.

I also bought mine from Amazon a couple of years ago after recommendations from this forum. Works great and rides in the back of the van every day. Keep trying for a good one, your brother won't be disappointed.
