This is over at Knots also.
I have 20A/250V L6-20 receptacles in my shop.
Can I run a BS, which only requires 15A and a 6-15 plug (http://www.grizzly.com/products/14-2-HP-Deluxe-Bandsaw/G0457), with a L6-20 plug on a 20A circuit?
I know the motor amperage should ideally match the breaker size to prevent over-heating, but is 15A to 20A dangerous?
Thanks.

If the saw motor and/or starter has integral overheat protection then it should be safe.
