Plug for an online parts company!
Loaned out my old Bosch roto hammer last month. (Metal case, 1/2″, earlier, shorter version of the bulldog)
Got it back in non -usable condition.
Nose wouldn’t retract to allow bits to be inserted/removed. Took it apart to determine the issue and concluded I needed new parts.
Went online on Sunday and found this place :
http://www.ereplacementparts.com
Easy to navigate site.
Located the exploded view of the tool and parts list, ordered the repair kit. Cost all of $6.95.
Received the repair/replacement kit today , 5 minute fix.
Up and running again.
Nice!!
Putting in a plug and Kudos for them for price and service to anyone who repairs their own tools. Parts are available for most tools. (manufacturers are listed at the site )

I just got a lathe centerpoint from them. Took about a week, and shipping was more than the part... but they did have it. I'll use them again.
We'll have a kid
Or maybe we'll rent one
He's got to be straight
We don't want a bent one

If things loosen up
My shipping also was expensive. But they did have the part and service was quick. Beat sending the tool in for repair or losing the use of it.
Like you said, I will be using them again if need arises.

Wow, they have the worm and gear for my very old Porter Cable fixed base jig saw. One half is in stock, the other ships in a week. bad news is that the two parts together are $60. Plus shipping."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson

wow - it's good to hear of someone fixing tools rather than throwing them in the trash - something I'm guilty of doing
