I’m working on planning and installing a whole house carbon filter and salt based water softener. This house is a new build and the water main is on the side of the house. It also happens to have electrical right next to the main. We live in central California where we get a freeze maybe 5 times a year, barely. My plan is to put it all in an outdoor plastic enclosure. The part I’m struggling with is how to run a drain line over to it. There’s a sewer clean out about ten feet away. Can I run a T off of that and bring a drain to the enclosure? If so, what type of pvc connector would I use for the discharge? It’s a 3/4” pex line. Thank you for reading!

Your local codes office will have guidance.
air gap into a drain line with a trap would be a good idea. (to avoid a sewer gas vent at ground level)
