Any one have experience with them? I know they just bought National City (I only have a small personal account there) and am looking ofr a new home for my business acoounts. I’m with Huntington right now but they are nickel diming me at every turn & I hear from folks inside the industry they are shakier than they appear.

I know this doesn't answer your question. But have you thought about a small local/regional bank?
I started with mine when they were smallish about 8-10 years ago. Since then they are buying up others and are getting a little big. No drop off in service. I find them very friendly. And if any problems (rare) they can be solved human to human.
As I saw the market turning this summer (we are about 1 year behind a lot of places) I took out a Line of Credit. Nothing secured. Banker came to my office to let me sign. That is really a pretty usual occurrence w/them. I have signed half a dozen loans in my office.
I'd never go back to a larger bank.
I've got another small bank chasing my biz too.
I use PNC for both my personal and business banking. I like 'em.
My wife recently commented to me that their profits were down a bit last quarter. I replied that any bank with any profits -- even lower profits -- was doing pretty good.
As far as being shakier than they appear, what bank isn't these days?

They bought my bank last year. If you get the right account they are excellent. I pay nothing for a biz account that is tiny and getting smaller every day.
They bought my local bank a little over a year ago. I figured I'd give them a shot and see how it went. They screwed up the rollover but accommodated me in the interim and got it fixed quickly so it was not a huge deal. I was in the hospital at the time and the accounts were not transferred properly. My wife stopped to get cash and the ATM wouldn't work. The teller handed her $100 and said go take care of your husband and we'll get your accounts sorted out in the meantime. I attribute that more to the culture of the bank before the merger- but they got everything resolved within a few days. The folks at the local branch are still the same so I get the same good service when I'm in the branch which is not often. I LOVE their online banking and bill pay. Pay is direct deposit, so I rarely need to visit a branch. Their website has been reliable and I use it all the time. They have some fees typical of most banks. My checking is free and I have been pleased overall. Just a note- if you are a heavy branch user- they did cut branch hours pretty significantly after the merger- went back to more traditional "bankers hours". No more evening drive through until 7 pm. Didn't impact me too much- but my mom doesn't like it.
I've used PNC since I opened up shop a year and a half ago. I like them a lot. Depending on how much $ your business makes and the amount of transactions you make there are different kinds of accounts you can get. I'm on the small end so there really are no fees for anything. I think I've had one the whole time. The online banking is very good.
I hate them.
of course, I hate most banks.
had tons of small, little annoying problems with them a coupla years back.
so ... I switched to National City.
who I've been happy with.
oh well.
keep in mind ... it's probablu just me. Banks seem to hate me as much as I hate them. Wife has our joint account which she uses 99.99% of the time there. She opened it when she worked at PNC ... kept it after she switched jobs.
looks like I'll see U at PNC!
(I wonder what happens to our National City Points?)
