Im gonna be replaceing some pocket doors in the near fututre. I have hollow core slab doors installed now. They are original installation and the house is about 50 years old. I was planning on replaceing them with 15 light pine interior doors. Can I use the same track and is there a weight limit on the rollers that I should be worried about? I was thinking that type one rollers would work. Dont know first time foolin with them kind doors…. Any info would be appreaciated.

These replacements will be heavier doors, I believe, and the old rollers may be considerably worn out, Ron. Look close at them before reusing. You might be able to take the roller out of one and take it down to your local HD - ooops, sorry- builders supplier to see if the Johnson units have the same rollers that would fit in your tracks. It is possible to order Johnson stuff individually instead of in kits as stocked.
That way, you just replace worn rollers and reuse the tracks without tearing into the wall.
This is all dependant on whether they used decent stuff to start with. I had a call to fix a Pocket door for a dining room in a nice house but it turned out that someone had hung it with a trck and hardware for plywood closet sliders. Quality similar to closets in mobile homes but this was a million dollar home. Had to open the wall for that one.
http://www.johnsonhardware.com/ Ron, have had good luck talking to customer service over the phone. If you have johnson hdwr, they might have rollers for the heavier doors that'll fit your old track. Best of luck.
