I have a 1000′ sqft house with a single 9′ x 6′ bathroom. Part of the remodeling of the bathroom I would like to install a pocket door to save some space, but my concern is that condensation will build up on the door during a shower (even with an exhaust fan), and then the door will get slid back and left in the pocket with the moisture. Does anyone else think this maybe a problem and have some remedies?

Is there a window in the room?
I've install several in bathrooms and not found that to be a problem. The stop trim is not so air tight that it won't allow it to vent.
There are other problems though with a poachet door in a bathroom.
They tend to allow less privacy. I think they are better for families where this is not an issue. Do you often leave the door open anmyway?
They are slower to close which is an inconvenience at the least when you are on an emergency run. can't kick it slamed as you are in the process....
There is already a minimal amt of wall space in a bathroom for plumbing, fixtures, switch boxes, towel bars, etc. To put in a pocket door here you often need to increase the thickness of the wall to allow for these items. That can negate the idea of saving space.
Plan carefully and it can all work though.
Life and doors are always a compromise. My suggestion would be to pre-paint everything -- door frame, top, bottom, inside, outside and enjoy it.
THERE IS A WINDOW IN THE BATHROOM, AND THER IS A LIGHT SWITCH IN THAT WALL FOR THE HALLWAY THAT CAN BE MOVED ELSEWHERE, OTHERWISE THER ARE NO MECHANICLS IN THE SPACE REQUIRED FOR THE DOOR. ALSO THE WALL IS PLASTER AND LATH ON BOTH SIDES PLUS WALLBOARD AND TILE ON THE BATHROOM SIDE, SO 2-3 INCHES MAY BE LOST IN A 36" HALLWAY, WHICH DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM TO ME. PRIVACY IS AN ISSUE WHICH BRINGS UP ANOTHER QUESTION IF THERE ARE LOCKS AVAILABLE FOR POCKET DOORS (OTHER THEN A HOOK AND EYE)? THANKS FOR THE GREAT FEEDBACK!
Have 2 in house for over 30 years, no problems.
Like piffin said, there are other considerations, the biggest being they make more noise in the night.
Yes they make passage and privacy locksets for pocket doors. Kwikset makes a knotch in style and another companpy (?) makes ones that fit a standard bore/backset hole. When you purchase a pocket door frame..........make sure it is the heavy duty style with 4 rollers per carrier, not two.
If a pocket door seems a probable inconvenience.....................consider a bihinge setup, although a lockset for it will be designed by Rube Goldberg.

While it's a great idea, I think a pocket door in a frequently used bathroom would eventually show itself to be a major inconvenience.
I prefer pocket doors in locations where the door is to remain open or closed 90% of the time.
