   There are pocket door pulls with privacy latches built in, basically a small hook that rotates out of the door edge and engages a slot in the strike plate on the jamb.

   Roughcut:

   Johnson Hardware makes a pocket door lock - a simple one - its available on the net from Johnson or from Home Depot.  Many HD stores have a nice selection of Johnson hardware for pocket doors - usually on an end cap on hangers.  Lowes probably has it too - and a good builders hardware shop would also have it (but they are getting hard to find).

   I had one at my old house. The lock was a little push button on the hardware. Wasn't substantial, but it worked.
