I have a project going that has two front porch’s one above the other. The porch’s are cantilevered out the front of the house on the second and third floor’s and both have a finished ceiling. I have to weather tight the floors as the climate here is wet to say the least so my plan is to lay ice and water shield down over the sub-floor on the deck, install sleeper’s then my tounge and groove decking. My question is will the ice and water shield be enough, once the deck is down there will be no direct exposure to the Grace, as the deck will cover it. Am i on the right track with this or am I missing somthing?

depends how long you want all this to last.
I know of one done similarly that got by for 8-10 years.
I use EPDM and expect it to last about 40 years.
