We are in mid-construction of a front porch. It has a roof with minimal overhang over all of it but will still catch some direct sun. The south half will be screened in. The floor is currently 16″ oc treated 2×10’s, sloped 1/4″ /ft for their 12′ length. What covers these is in debate. Unwilling to submit to the maintenance of a wood T&G floor I’m voting floor Eon decking for the open porch area and my wife suggests that quarry tile would be nice for the screened in section. The direct sun, temperature and humidity swings, and flexibility of most subfloor is making me question the advisability of tiling an exterior porch floor. Can this be done successfully? Any feedback on using decking instead of T&G?
Thanks!

Where are you located? What climate is this flooring/tile going into?
Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

We are in central Illinois.
I used Tendura decking on my front porch. Its a T&G composite material that looks ( kinda ) like the old fir flooring/decking.
After 3 years without paint ( not recommended, by the way ), its still holding up very well.
I did see that product in past posts and visited their website today so I'm interested in how it holds up. We have Eon decking on our back deck and plan to have it on the balcony of this porch so thats why we'd like to have it or something else low maintenance for the porch floor. Our house is a oak timberframe with redwood siding and the only maintenance free thing about it is the decking it seems.
