For some reason I couldn’t pull up my original post, so thanks to all who responded. You confirmed what I thought was correct. I’m not sure what the actual pitch is, it’s an old house a client is restoring and it has been fairly remuddled.

It’s a somewhat long story, but it works out that I have to install some posts and ballustrade. The posts are repro’d to match some antique ones they bought, but needed more to do the job. I thought the rail might be something like may have been there. I will need to build a new staircase from the porch to the walkway also.
