Sorry, Bob, don't have the Jr.. I DO have the Sr. (full size Portamax). Main thing about the Jr. is that (I think) you get the excellent fence and the bigger table area, and I beleive it will rip 27", all just like the full Portamax. Still have to do it on the ground, unless you put it up on a flat surface and then secure it so it doesn't move when you apply (ripping) pressure. Fact is, I'm personally TOTALLY sold on the Portamax w/outfeed table for my Makita. JMHO.

Have used one for a couple years. Nice setup...if you keep it in one place. It is to bulky to cary around like I do. Just took mine off and will get a real Rouseu stand or get the Bosch saw.

I wouldn`t call that a raving review considering I was under the impression the "Porta" in Portamax stood for portable.
As a side note I recently purchased the 10" Ridgid tablesaw that came packaged with its own knock down, rolling stand. I had never purchased a Ridgid power tool in the past, but I have been very pleased with its power and performance thus far. With a price tag of $529 I felt it was worth looking into considering either the Dewalt or the Bosch plus a Russeau stand woulda ran a couple hunge more. So far, thumbs up! J. D. Reynolds

"DO IT RIGHT, DO IT ONCE"
Jay,
My thought exactly. I will use the Makita (which is a nice saw) to do everything but built-ins. Instead of buying a 275$ stand I will get a Bosch (500$ and now I have a back-up saw) to use only for larger work.
