Has anybody tried or seen the porter cable t-nailer with its own built in compressor. Runs off a 18 volt re chargeable battery. It also has an air hose nipple on it in case the battery is dead. It looked kind of bulky and heavy and noisy.

looked like some kind of joke to me, but they are in the stores now
I think I'll stick with the Paslode Impulse Finish guns
*First time someone posted a pic here I had to check & make sure it wasn't April 1st! Some poor sucker will buy one thinkin it will change his life or sumthin.T
*I'm not buying one till it comes with a salad shooter attachment too
*pc is still trying real hard to get a toe hold in the patent laden Impulse market. Remember the Alamo. Remember the Bammer.
*senco is unveiling their new battery/nail slinging, hoseless, gasless high tech wonders very soon.....ho hum, I think I'm becoming more low tech with age.
*Anyone remember Popiels Pocker Fisherman? Now that was a quality invention.
*I posted it twice and still have spelling errors. Just like that board I cut twice and was still too short.
*Just get an air tank pumped upto 125lbs and use that till the gauge hits 70 then refill. Can be done with 12volt unit in the truck. Or go to walmart and pick up the 2 gal compressor unit for $100. Works fine for finish nailer too.
*b Another Homeowner. One day we will rule the world.nigel- that reminds of the story a friend related to me dealing with his whole family in a van way out in the middle of nowhere at dusk with a flat tire and a flat spare. He does heating/air and had an empty canister in the van and was able to steal air from the other three tires via that canister and put enough air in the flat to make it to a gas station.
*Couldn't resist handling that gun at the local lumber yard about two weeks ago. I picked it up for about 10 seconds...that's the most awkward feeling tool I have ever had my hands on. Like swinging a 16 oz hammer with a 28 oz claw on it. Besides it kinda falls in with that joke that has to do with what fat girls and mopeds have in common...if you catch my drift. Love PC but what were they thinking?
*Well, I guess I'll suffer the woes of criticisim in the previous posts. Yes, I have one and yes I like it in the shop but not out on a job. It's way to heavy and awkward to sling around all day long even without the battery and running off a compressor. On the high side, the gun performs flawlessly in the shop. I consider this tool to be not unlike the cordless drill. When it first came out the same comments were made but in short order, everybody had one and the improvements over the years have been dramatic. I think this is why both Bostitch and Senco are coming out with theirs also.
*Steve, have you tried a Paslode Impulse nailer, cordless nailer is not a brand new concept
*Steve, does it actually make enough power to sink a pin nail in oak?
*allen, I havent tried it on oak. It seems powerful enough to do it.Steve
oak, hickory, cherry no problem.
What was PC thinking? Just what they always do...they let people who have never worked in the trades design their tools.
I layed their junk down in the early eighties and have never went back.
PC is a joke. Buy American? I don't think so!

I'm with you Blue. In any tool category, someone makes it better than PC.
But I've noticed a lot of guys on this site like PC. Can't understand it. Of course, they like F*rds too. Maybe that explains it.
MD
JLC tested it in the latest issue.
They were lukewarm to it.
