I picked up a Porter-Cable 310 laminate trimmer at a garage sale today ($20 for basically brand-new although older trimmer!). Actually, it’s the 312, I think is the model: the angle base.
It looks like I can use the angle base as a straight base, too — in fact, for the edge-trimming that’s the commonest use I make of trimmers, it might work even better, since I’ll have great line of sight on the open side. I’d appreciate comments from anyone who owns one of these with the angle base, particularly: should I get the straight base?

the angle base works pretty good. the full base is much more stable there is also an offset base that makes it easyer to get into corners
