Porter Cale 371 options, any input?
I am going to be installing a few prefab laminate counter tops, and I’ve decided to buy a PC 371 belt sander to use for scribing. Just getting too old and out of shape do do it anymore with my big belt sander.
Went online to check prices, (my only option because I’m in the middle of nowhere), and Amazon seems to have the best prices.
The options are: the 371K, or kit, that comes with the case, and assortment of belts, for $109.98 free shipping; the 371 bare which comes with one 80-grit belt for $106.99 with free shipping, (these two are a no brainer, I’d buy the kit); or, the 371R, which is reconditioned for $74.00 plus $6.50 shipping for $80.50.
I don’t intend to use it heavily, the upcoming run of countertops, and then intermittently at home in my woodworking.
I read the reviews on Amazon, and there aren’t many, and they vary greatly.
So, does anyone have any experience with the reconditioned units? Is the case and one year warranty worth $30?

I don't know what model my PC belt sander is, but I'm much happier with it than I was with the crummy Bosch sander it replaced.
