I plan on installing two headers that will come together to form a 90 degree angle, one of which will support a load bearing wall. Is it best to place the post underneath the headers (at the 90 degree angle) or should I attach the headers to side of the post? Either way, have any suggestions on what type of strong tie to use? Thanks for the Help.

Sounds like fun........There are some structural experts out there who will answer better than I, but the header on top of the post, or at the least let into it, is going to be stronger than hanging on nails, especially if it is to be supporting some great weight above. Let us know what you decide.
