Hi all,
We recently had the foundation and basement walls poured for our new construction home in Wisconsin. We’ve never owned our own home so we are learning a lot. I’ve taken a few pictures of the concrete walls texture, I’m just wondering if this texture is expected or if it would be considered scaling? It’s was poured about two weeks ago and comparing pictures from the day after the forms were removed and now the texture looks unchanged. I may just be overly particular at this point since I don’t have much knowledge related to concrete and knowing the foundation being so permanent compared to other parts out of build. Any input or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any feedback to offer you, but I certainly can relate. It's good to ask questions and to familiarize yourself with concrete and the nuances of texture. Hopefully you'll get some helpful responses.
Thank you, CedarRose!
It kinda looks like the concrete contractor used form boards that had been previously
been used and not properly cleaned before reuse. Shouldn't affect concrete but sloppy
work means maybe rebar wasn't set properly. Was job under permit and inspected
Hi bing0328, the job is under permit and was inspected, but to my knowledge it was inspected after the concrete was poured and the forms were removed so I don’t believe the rebar was inspected prior to the concrete being poured. Is renting some sort of equipment to examine the wall in its current state for rebar an option, or am I just being overly paranoid?
What did the plans call for so far as rebar is concerned?
