In the latest FHB (June/July 2000) page 94, Gary Williams describes a truck rack that he built. He says that he had it powder coated, instead of painting it. I would like to do the same, but have no idea what sort of place you go to to have this done. Any ideas?

Bob, look in the yellow pages under "powdercoating". There's 15 listings in the Seattle yellow pages.
*Some interesting related websites:A paint and coatings discussion board: http://www.horizonweb.com/wwwboard/Coatings/wwwboard.htmlAn interesting article discussing powder coating and comparing it to paint and other coatings:http://www.execpc.com/~davewrit/Powder.htmlA general website for commercial powder coaters:http://www.1-800-9powder.com/The Eastwood Company has a kit that you can do your powder coating - just be prepared to shell out $149.95 for the starter kit and have an oven (that should not be used for food preparation after) that is big enough to take the part that you are coating:http://www.eastwoodcompany.com/ and under "go shopping" on the left, click on Specialty Coatings
*Sometimes a place that galvanizes will also powder coat.

Thanks to all for your suggestions

Harbor Freight has got one on sale this week. Deleted the email already & don't remember the price. If you have pieces bigger than your oven, have it professionally done. Look under metal finishing also.
