About a 1 and a half ago I framed an addition for a friend of mine whose brother is an electrician. He wired up a temp panel for us with 4 120 breaker a240 breaker. I love it and have been asking all my my cleints to hook one up. Im looking to buy one but don’t want one built in a wooden box because they break to easy. What does every one else do

6500 watt generator.
We have our own made up just as you describe, with GFCI breakers, and we move them from site to site if it's possible to use it as soon as we break ground.
You can purchase a commercial watertight metal enclosure for a panel. Any outfit that sells commercial electrical stuff should have a catalog. Will be pricy, but pretty bulletproof.
Midwest Electrical Products sells small panels for temporary power - you can get them in a variety of sizes, with several 120vac and 240vac circuit breakers and receptacles built into a metal box. They come with or without meters, and designed to mount on a wall or with a pedestal so they can be freestanding out in the yard. They also sell panels designed for use in RV parks and at marinas that may work as well.
I'm sure there are other companies selling similar products, this is the one I'm familiar with. Alternately, you may be able to get a local electrician to put together something similar with used parts that will do the same thing.
